Ease up on that eraser jezebel.com
Looks like someone got a little trigger-happy with their Photoshop finger.
This week, Jezebel called out mom-friendly fashion retailer Ann Taylor for featuring unrealistically altered models in its online catalogue.
To cite just two examples, one woman's legs appear to resemble a pool noodle, while another's hips have been erased altogether.
In response, blogger Jenna Sauers wrote that the site was a "veritable treasure trove of inept Photoshop." She then added: "Why do companies do this?"
In a victory for truth-in-advertising fans, Ann Taylor agreed, admitting in a recent Tweet that it may have been overzealous with the retouching - you think? - but, "going forward, we'll make sure to feature more real, beautiful images."
Hopefully, those images will come with hips.
Acquiring good taste anmulder.blogspot.com
Obsessive collectors are usually more nerdy than nifty, but super cool bloggers such as Anja Mulder are the exception. Mulder, an illustrator who moonlights as a social worker, mixes up household items with found objects such as rocks, wool or sardine cans, then adds in her own graphic work. The finished product? Groupings that appear both random and edited - revelatory little tableaux of the beauty in daily life.
You gotta have faith vogue.co.uk
"The thing about Ungaro is that people have really good faith in it ... it really deserves that good faith and I'm going to give it my best shot to make it work."
Giles Deacon, the real designer replacing legging-happy Lindsay Lohan at Ungaro's creative helm. Here's hoping his fall collection features pants, not Lohan's disastrous pasties.
