In November, Hotel Crillon le Brave, 40 kilometres northeast of Avignon, charges a flat rate of 150 euros ($204) a night from standard guestrooms to two-bedroom suites - a savings up to 80 per cent off normal rates.
The property is made up of seven restored stone houses dating from the 16th and 17th centuries that are linked by bridges, cobblestone walkways and hidden courtyards. Crillon le Brave is open Wednesday through Sunday in November, and has two truffle hunt weekends scheduled during the month.
A two-night minimum stay is required.
