Hampshire, England Treetop living reaches luxurious heights at Chewton Glen. Nestled between New Forest National Park and the seashore, the Relais & Chateaux property recently unveiled a series of five-star Treehouse Suites that are dotted across its bucolic estate. The swank hideaways are elevated on stilts and boast mood lighting, bathrooms with timber and marble floors, wood-burning stoves and kitchenettes. Private decks feature hot tubs and sweeping views of the nearby woodlands. Breakfast is delivered each morning in a hamper, but given the suites are between 200 and 400 metres from the main hotel, lunch or dinner is a hike or a buggy ride away. chewtonglen.com
VALENTINO ON VIEW
London Dedicated followers of fashion can peruse more than 130 of Valentino's finest hand-crafted creations at a special exhibit at Somerset House. The famed Italian couturier's dresses, suits, capes and kaftans, most of which have never been seen outside of his atelier, are on display from Nov. 29 to March 3 (advance tickets are currently on sale). Visitors assume the role of top model, walking down a 60 metre runway to view an audience full of well-dressed mannequins. Gowns worn by Sophia Loren, Grace Kelly and Jacqueline Onassis are on show, as well as the pearl-encrusted ivory silk wedding gown worn by Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece at her 1995 nuptials. Chicago G.E. Bistro, Master Chef judge Graham Elliot's newest restaurant, features an affordable menu for the masses. The West Loop eatery features dishes that are less than $20 and are made with three ingredients. Dinner options bear such simple descriptions as linguine, clam and fennel; trout with spaetzle and sorrel; and pork with watermelon and okra. Reservations aren't taken, but half the fun is taking in the quirky rock 'n' roll and religious decor. gebistro.com
