Abbotsford Police are turning to YouTube in their continuing battle against gangs.

In a program dubbed Operation Veritas, the department has unveiled four anti-gang videos designed to reveal much more than the monetary costs of a life of crime.

The department says the videos – posted to YouTube and available on high school computers – compare scenarios such as the cost of sitting handcuffed in the back of a police cruiser to the enjoyment of a crime-free lifestyle.

Abbotsford Police have already launched an anti-gang poster series and a program of live presentations aimed at deterring teenagers being wooed by gangs.
