A lockdown has ended at a high school in Langley, B.C.
Police were called to Langley Senior Secondary after multiple reports that someone may have entered the building carrying a gun.
A police emergency response team was sent to the site to check the building and students were held inside until the search was complete.
The two-hour lockdown was lifted after officers discovered a replica handgun. A 17-year-old was immediately taken into custody.
No one was injured.
Police had asked parents to stay away from the school during the incident, and a nearby area was set up so parents could gather there.
Students were bused to the site after the lockdown was lifted.
"We are just thankful that this incident has been brought to resolution without anyone being hurt," Cheryle Beaumont, the Langley School District's superintendent, wrote in a statement.
