Two families from Minnesota who put down a $900 deposit for reservations at a Squamish hotel for the 2010 Olympic Games are worried they've lost their accommodations - and their money - after the hotel's owners changed and no one will answer their calls.
The families had reserved rooms in May at the Garibaldi Budget Inn, which has since been renamed the Squamish Budget Motor Inn.
The families say they have not been able to reach anyone by phone to confirm whether their $400 per night bookings for six people are still good. CTV News was unable to reach anyone at the Squamish Budget Motor Inn.
Court documents show that the hotel's owners were facing foreclosure in January, 2009, several months before the Americans put down their deposit.
