Thank you for giving me this opportunity to express myself in court and also to people who suffered as a result of the Air India and Narita cases. No words in any language can ever bring closure to those who have lost loved ones as a result of the Air India and Narita tragedies. Neither can words bring back those who perished in such tragic circumstances. I sincerely apologize to each and every one of the victims who have been left with such grief ... to bear. My heart has always gone out to those who perished and the families of the victims.
I am a devoutly religious man, the father of four children and a husband to a loyal, loving wife. I have kept my family intact through 30 years of continual legal uncertainties and my subsequent incarcerations for most of that time.
I have been fortunate enough to share my life and faith with a family that believes strongly in God. It is our faith in God that has provided the strength to survive through these decades of anguish and pain. I pray each day that God will easy the terrible burden of loss that so many people continue to suffer as a consequence of these terrible events that go on and I pray each day for the rest of my life for God to grant faith, courage and strength to each victim in order to help them continue to live in hope, for the tremendous loss they have suffered. I have never broken in my faith and belief in God, and I apologize this court has been again troubled with my presence. I regret these events.
