Mounties are warning parents about so-called Little Girl parties hosted by senior high school students who apparently try to have sex with girls between 12 and 13 years old.

Constable Tracy Wolbeck of the Upper Fraser Valley RCMP says a student called police after hearing talk about "LG parties" that allegedly involve luring the girls with alcohol.

Const. Wolbeck says any such gatherings may be connected to upcoming grad parties, which young girls shouldn't be attending.

She says police so far haven't launched an investigation into any such gatherings in the Fraser Valley.

Const. Wolbeck says the parties may be linked to a Facebook competition challenging Grade 11 and 12 students at a Surrey, B.C., high school to see who can have sex with the most Grade 8 girls.

She says parents should be aware of the types of sites their kids are accessing on the Internet and students should inform their parents, teachers and counsellors if they know such parties are taking place.
