A man is dead after going missing while boating in the Bay of Fundy off Nova Scotia.

RCMP received a report Saturday night of a missing boater in the Parkers Cove area.

A coast guard vessel from Saint John, N.B., a coast guard auxiliary vessel and a private fishing boat began a search for the 55-year-old man.

Sgt. Rocky Calhoun says the man's body was recovered in the water several hours later near his boat.

Calhoun says the man was wearing a life-jacket at this time.

His name has not yet been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
