Calgary police have charged a 16-year-old boy with allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in a school field in front of their friends.
Police received a 911 call to Clarence Sansom School on Monday from people in the school saying the crime was in progress in a nearby school field.
Police say a 12-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy met a week earlier on a social networking site and had agreed to meet in the school playground.
While several youths sat in the bleachers, the girl and boy became involved in a sexual act.
Initial reports said the act was being recorded, but police say a cellphone belonging to one of the youths was checked and no photos or video have been recovered from witnesses.
