Canada's Richard Weinberger won gold Saturday in the men's 10-kilometre open water swimming event at the Pan American Games

The Surrey, B.C., native finished in one hour 57 minutes 31 seconds, just 0.3 seconds ahead of Arthur Frayler of the U.S.

Argentina's Guillermo Bertola was third (1:57:33.9) at the course in Puerto Vallarta, 2.9 seconds back of Weinberger.

Meanwhile, Aaron Rathy of Nanaimo, B.C., won silver in the men's wakeboard with 72.67 points.

Andrew Adkison of the U.S. won gold with 80.00 points, while Brazil's Marcelo Giardi was third with 65.90 points at the event in Chapala.

In men's singles archery, Toronto's Crispin Duenas won silver after losing in the final to American Brady Ellison. Columbia's Daniel Pineda took bronze.
