RCMP Chief Superintendant Serge Therriault, Officer in Charge of A Division (right to left), RCMP Assistant Commissioner Francois Bidal, Commanding Officer of A Divison and Ottawa Police Chief Vern White listen to a question as they discuss the arrests of three terror suspects during a news conference in Ottawa, Thursday August 26, 2010
Details remain scarce about the latest developments in what authorities allege was a homegrown terrorism plot, and police aren't shedding much additional light.
The RCMP won't say anything about a fourth person they said was arrested Friday in connection with the investigation, known as Project Samosa, including whether the individual appeared in court Saturday.
A court hearing took place in Ottawa, but a publication ban prohibits the disclosure of much of what was discussed.
An Ottawa police officer did say a man was released without charge by the RCMP's A-Division, the same unit involved in the alleged terror arrests.
Saturday's court appearance involved an un-related assault charge.
The man was released on $2,000 bail but he was promptly re-arrested on an assault charge and another court appearance is set for Sunday.
Police have charged three men so far in the terrorist investigation, which investigators say involved a plot that stretched from Ottawa to Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan and Dubai.
