The Globe and Mail reported that Ontario beer-drinkers and bar-owners suffering from a lockout of the three main breweries took advantage of relaxed rules in the provincial beer distribution system, but most remained painfully aware that beer supplies were drying up. Two brewing companies not affected by the lockout were flooded with orders for kegs and bottles, after it was announced they could sell the beer directly to licensees and liquor stores. Blind hunting enthusiast Reginald Arseneau of Bathurst, N.B., said he intended to continue his fight for a hunting licence, despite the rejection of his complaint of discrimination by the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission. Charging that he was the victim of discrimination, Arseneau explained that he wanted to hunt with a guide. "The guide would line up the game in the gun scope, and I would pull the trigger," he said.
