A jury in Barrie, Ont., will be deliberating for a third full day today on the fate of a mother who drowned her young daughters.

The jurors must decide whether Elaine Campione was so disturbed she didn't know it was wrong.

The Crown contends she drowned the girls because she didn't want their father to get custody.

Ms. Campione is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of three-year-old Serena, and 19-month-old Sophia

The defence concedes Ms. Campione drowned her children, but is urging the jury to find her not criminally responsible by reason of mental disorder.

Ms. Campione believed she was being followed by people trying to kill her and take the girls away in the months leading up to the killings.

Her lawyer also says she believed the girls would only be safe in heaven.
