A 19-year-old Quebec man has been charged with possessing child pornography.
Dave Thivierge appeared in a Quebec City courtroom on Tuesday.
Provincial police are still investigating digital material they seized when they arrested him at his home.
Thivierge has been allowed bail under a series of conditions. He must return to court in October, when he will find out whether more charges are being laid.
Police say their investigation dates back 10 months and began in September 2010.
They say the investigation started with a tip from the public. They say they monitored his behaviour on several social-networking sites.
