A prison near Belleville is in lockdown this weekend after officials discovered what they call "prison-made" weapons.

Warkworth Institution's acting Warden Gerry Chartrand says the prison was locked down and visits were temporarily postponed starting around 6 p.m. Friday.

He says weapons made of pipes and metal pieces were found in common areas of the medium-security institution.

Mr. Chartrand says no one has been injured and the find is not tied to any specific inmate.

He says the prison search will likely end later today.
