The death of an 82-year-old woman at a suburban Ottawa retirement home has been deemed a homicide.
Police originally termed the Boxing Day death of Doreen Flann as suspicious.
Ms. Flann was a resident at the Longfields Manor retirement home in the west-end neighbourhood of Barrhaven.
Staff at the home called police just before noon Monday and Ms. Flann was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 82-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident but police say no charges have been laid at this time.
The man's name has not been released.
