A sexual assault scandal at a Winnipeg boarding school has grown to include 16 alleged victims and 82 charges.

It's alleged that senior students threatened younger ones at St. John's-Ravenscourt School, holding them down and placing a wood stick against their buttocks.

Originally, four students were charged in April with threatening, confining and sexually assaulting one younger student.

Now, more charges have been laid against the same four accused, involving more students.

The allegations shocked people at the exclusive private school, which houses many foreign students.

The headmaster, Stephen Johnson, says the school has hired an outside consultant to find ways to improve security.
