Canadian lugers are proving to be a force in World Cup team relay events, winning a bronze medal at Konigssee, Germany, yesterday for their third medal of the season.

Alex Gough and Sam Edney combined with the doubles team of Chris and Mike Moffat, all of Calgary, to reach the podium.

The Canadian team finished with a collective time of 2 minutes 39.077 seconds, behind the powerful Germans who won in 2:38.302 and Austria.

The Canadian team had already won gold and bronze medals in the team relay this season.

Individually, Edney placed 15th in men's singles in 1:35.336 behind Albert Demtschenko in 1:34.176. The Russian broke the track record in both runs and defeated two-time Olympic champion Armin Zoeggler of Italy.

Ian Cockerline of Calgary came in 19th while Jeff Christie, also of Calgary, did not finish.
