A verdict is expected Monday in B.C. Supreme Court in Kamloops at the trial of a man who has admitted killing his three children nearly two years ago.
Allan Schoenborn is charged with three counts of first degree murder for the April 2008 killings of his 10-year-old daughter, Kaitlynne, and two sons, Max and Cordon, aged eight and five.
Justice Robert Powers is considering the defence argument that Mr. Schoenborn was mentally ill when the children were smothered or stabbed in their Merritt, B.C., home.
The Crown believes the 41-year-old committed the crimes for revenge against the children's mother, who was about to end the couple's relationship.
Mr. Schoenborn has testified he thought his children were being sexually molested, and that killing them was the only way to end their suffering.
