Ontario's newest holiday means much of the province will be closed for business.

Schools, grocery stores, public libraries, liquor and beer stores, the Toronto Stock Exchange and provincial offices will all be closed for Family Day today.

Federal agencies, including passport offices and Canada Post, will be open.

GO Transit will be running on a Saturday schedule while the Toronto Transit Commission will be running on its holiday service.

Stores in designated tourist areas - the Eaton Centre, the Queen's Quay Terminal, the Distillery District and the Yorkville area - are allowed to open.
