Police in Windsor, Ont., have received at least 30 more complaints overnight about debit card scams.

Staff Sergeant Gerry Corriveau says this story has taken on a life of its own because it affects so many people.

He says police in Windsor, Lasalle and Amherstburg as well as provincial police have received complaints and he figures there are about 200 incidents.

Corriveau is advising people to check their accounts and if there is a problem to contact their banks.

It's believed that there were three or four points where debit cards were compromised in Windsor at fast food restaurants.

Police believe hundreds of thousands of dollars were stolen by an organized crime group in Quebec.
