Prime Minister Stephen Harper will give his first interview since proroguing Parliament today, sitting down with CBC anchor Peter Mansbridge this afternoon. The full interview airs on The National tonight.

As word circulated of the sitdown, Global news anchor Kevin Newman tweeted: "If the PM's available for one-on-one interviews, happy to accept an offer!"

Rumour has it that Mr. Harper has been boycotting Mr. Newman thanks to a previous interview where things became tense between the two.

The Prime Minister has not gone before the cameras since a round of year-enders before Christmas.
