For years it's been whispered in Ottawa that Stephen Harper's Christian evangelical beliefs explain his government's pro-Israel Mideast policy. Indeed, from time to time, it's even been written that way - including by respected journalists in award-winning publications.
Now that the Conservatives have joined the Obama Administration in condemning Jewish construction in the Holy City of Jerusalem, are Canadians to conclude that Mr. Harper has abandoned his beliefs? Or, in the alternative, can we conclude that, like so much of what we read or see on television, these reports were baseless and the record will soon be corrected?
