About 80 firefighters were working to control a major blaze at a Scarborough cardboard factory Monday evening.

Atlantic Packaging, located on Progress Avenue near Midland Avenue, caught fire around 4 p.m., after a small fire near the building spread to its interior. It was not immediately clear how the first fire started, the Toronto Fire Service said.

Shortly after 6 p.m., 19 trucks were on the scene as firefighters continued to battle the three-alarm blaze. "It appears they'll be there for a while," said Captain Mike Strapko.

No injuries have been reported.
