Toronto firefighters spent more than an hour Saturday afternoon rescuing a paraglider who got snagged on the rocks at the Scarborough Bluffs.

The man is believed to have leapt from the cliffs behind Fairmont Public School, but his gear was caught and he was left hanging about 200 feet from the base of the cliffs.

Captain David Eckerman, a spokesman for Toronto Fire Services, said firefighters are trained to rescue people from cliffs, and there is an incident at the Bluffs at least once a year.

The man wasn't seriously injured and charges are not likely to be laid.
