The city will be shutting down sections of the Gardiner Expressway at night over the next two weeks as it continues to rebuild a trio of bridges overtop the freeway.
The eastbound lanes will be closed between the Humber River and Spadina Avenue during the overnight hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. The closures start at 11 p.m. and finish at 5 a.m., in time for the morning rush hour.
The westbound lanes, meanwhile, will close overnight between Spadina and the Humber on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of the following week (Nov. 2 to 5). Similarly, they will be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.
In addition, the Jameson Avenue on-ramp will shut down Friday, Oct. 29 and Monday, Nov. 5 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The closures are part of the process of rebuilding the Jameson Avenue bridge and two bridges on Lakeshore Boulevard West. The spans are set to be completed in a year's time.
