York University is returning to normal after a natural gas leak that caused four buildings, including a residence, to be evacuated was plugged.

Toronto Fire was preparing to leave the site, giving the all clear of the chemistry building at 4:43 p.m.

Captain David Eckerman, from Toronto Fire's Public Information Section, said no injuries have been reported.

Six fire trucks responded to the alarm at 2:26 p.m. on Tuesday after a gas pipe was severed. Along with the residence, a fitness facility, a science building and a chemistry building were also evacuated.

Gas company Enbridge is also on scene.

"The construction crew called Enbridge initially," Mr. Eckerman said. He said Enbridge is the "expert" in dealing with these types of situations.
