A 43-year-old man is in serious condition after being stabbed in the stomach outside a plaza in Toronto's west-end.

Toronto police Constable Tony Vella says a fight broke out at noon between six people in the plaza parking lot on Dupont Street (at Dufferin Street).

Constable Vella say the man, a security guard, is in serious but non-life threatening condition.

He says the suspect may have used a shovel to stab the guard.

Police are looking for two suspects who fled the scene in a green pick-up truck.

Constable Vella says officers are interviewing witnesses in the area.
