Police have uncovered two more cases of needles embedded in Piller's polish sausages, bringing the total count to five.

On Tuesday, two separate customers reported buying a package of Piller's meat products on May 27. One bought Kielbasa at the No Frills at 900 Dufferin Street, while the other bought Turkey Kielbasa at the Price Chopper at 2440 Dundas Street West.

Both found needles inside the sausages. The stores, all located in the High Park area, have voluntarily taken all Piller's products off their shelves, according to CP24.

Police issued a public safety alert Monday after learning about three cases of Piller's sausages being threaded with needles.

Since the beginning of May, investigators have dealt with three cases of food tampering in which customers reported finding a needle stuffed inside sausages they bought at their local grocery store.

All three of those cases involved Piller's Polish Sausage purchased at No Frills. Two packages were bought from the store at 372 Pacific Avenue and one from 2187 Bloor Street West.

Police are reminding shoppers to carefully check the packaging on food products for signs of tampering. They also advise anyone who thinks their food has been tampered with to hold on to the product and receipts and phone the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
