Toronto police have found  a female subway rider alleged to have stolen the purse of a woman who sustained fatal injuries at the College station Wednesday morning. But police say no charges will be laid.

"After considerable response from the public, the woman [female subway rider] was identified and located," police said in a news release.  "After an interview, it became apparent that the woman was dealing with mental-health issues. As a result, no charges will be laid."

The name and age of the victim were not disclosed, and in a news release police did not specify if she died by suicide. A police source, however, confirmed that is the working theory of investigators.

Security cameras captured good-quality images of the alleged robber, who is believed to have seen the woman jump before grabbing the purse from where it lay on the platform.

The 8 a.m. incident disrupted service on the north-south Yonge subway line for several hours.
