A 29-year-old woman has been charged after shots were fired at Pokemon Go players from the roof of an apartment building in Newmarket, Ont., over the weekend.
York Regional Police said they received a 911 call around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday about someone opening fire at four people playing the game near Main Street in Newmarket.
Police said witnesses reported a woman shooting a "handgun-style" pellet gun. At least four shots were fired, but no one was struck, and no injuries were reported.
Officers arrested a woman at her residence in a two-storey apartment building and seized a pellet gun. She was charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

York Regional Police said they have fielded several calls from concerned citizens about groups of people walking around, but in most cases they were playing the extremely popular smartphone game that allows users to catch Pokemon in the real world.
Authorities are reminding players to be aware of their surroundings while playing Pokemon Go, to watch for traffic and to be aware of trespassing laws before walking on private property in their quest for virtual creatures.
