A 25-year-old Toronto man has been charged with murder in the drowning death of his pregnant wife.
Anna Karissa Grandine, 30, was pronounced dead in hospital last October, after police were called to the couple's Toronto home about a woman in distress. Police confirmed that she drowned.
Philip Grandine was arrested on Tuesday and was subsequently charged with first-degree murder.
Ms. Grandine was born in the Philippines and moved to Toronto with her family in 1994, according to her online obituary. She and Mr. Grandine, a pastor at Ennerdale Road Baptist Church, were married in 2008 and had been expecting their first child, the obituary states.
