Peel regional police say a first-degree murder warrant has been issued for a Toronto man in connection with a fatal shooting last month in Mississauga.

Aspiring rapper Donald Richard Grant, 27, of Toronto died in hospital after being shot Nov. 7 at a hotel near Pearson International Airport.

Police say a Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Jerome Derby, 20, described as black, approximately 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds, with a slim build, brown eyes and brown hair.

Mr. Derby is considered armed and dangerous, and police say he should not be approached.

Investigators believe Mr. Derby is somewhere in the Greater Toronto Area.

He is being advised to contact a lawyer and turn himself in.

Mr. Grant billed himself as recording artist Don Kartel on his website.
