Toronto police have issued a second-degree-murder warrant for a 26-year-old man accused of intentionally running over another club-goer after a disagreement in the Entertainment District on the weekend.
Naveen Ariaratnam of no fixed address is wanted in the death of Vincent Dang, 20, of Concord. Police said Mr. Ariaratnam has lived in Toronto and St. Catharines.
Police are also looking for a person of interest in the investigation and have released a photo of him. He is described as male, brown, slim build, 5'5" - 5'8", with black hair.
A person of interest is not necessarily a suspect, but rather someone believed to be connected to an incident whose role isn't clear.
Police earlier identified Kim Allen Cacao, 20, of Toronto, as a person of interest. He promptly contacted police and has since been cleared, investigators said.
Mr. Dang, a York finance student, died of "multiple injuries" after an SUV struck him at the corner of Wellington Street and Blue Jays Way at about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday.
A minor altercation between Mr. Dang, the SUV's driver and their groups of friends at the Rockwood nightclub at 31 Mercer St. spilled out on to the street, allegedly leading to Mr. Dang's death, according to police.
