Toronto police have arrested a man they say is the president of a local children' baseball association, charging him with possession of child pornography.
Stephen Lane, 65, recently took his computer to a repair shop for servicing, police allege, and when the technicians noticed hundreds of pornographic images, they called police.
Mr. Lane was arrested Monday.
Detective Paul Krawczyk said police discovered Mr. Lane was the founder and president of the Weston Baseball Association, and they are concerned he may have had contact with young children while in that position.
Police have asked for the public's help in determining what kind of work Mr. Lane did at the association and if he coached children.
The Weston league is mainly for children between four and fifteen years old.
Police say the images appear to have been downloaded from the internet and were not created by Mr. Lane. There is no evidence Mr. Lane distributed the images to others, Detective Krawczyk said.
