BIKE POLO
Toronto Bike Polo
What: Hoseheads love their hockey, bike messengers love their wheels. Slam 'em together and you get bike polo, a high-octane joyride not to be confused with its snooty equine-mounted cousin.
When: Most weekday evenings on the hockey rink at Scadding Court Community Centre/Alexandra Park, at corner of Bathurst St. and Dundas St. W. Beginner nights on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.; everyone welcome Sundays, 1 p.m.

DODGEBALL
Toronto Dodgeball Association
What: Co-ed, six-player court murderball, er, dodgeball. Each game is officiated by two referees. Games played at venues near the DVP and Lawrence, Bathurst St. and Wilson Ave., the 401 and Leslie St., among others.
When: Starts April 10 and runs till June 20 (9 games total)

DRAGONBOAT
National Dragonboat Club
What: A mad paddling race with as many as 22 people on board a single boat, all working together to cross the finish line first. Teams are almost all mixed gender, with paddlers possessing a wide variety of fitness levels.
When: First on-water practice is April 16 at Sunnyside Pavilion (1755 Lake Shore Blvd. W.), with weekly training sessions leading up to the Toronto International Dragonboat Race festival (June 25-26) and provincial and national competitions throughout the summer.
Cost: Team practice rates run $155/hour with a coach; individuals can join the recreational program at $45/month for three weekly practice sessions. Paddles, PFDs, coaches and lifeguards all provided.

KICKBALL
Toronto Kickball
What: Cross baseball with soccer, then take a time machine back to Grade 7 phys ed class. Remember it now? Limited motor skills required, so leave your "I'm not athletically inclined" excuses at home.
When: Starting with an introductory event and party on April 23, games will be played every Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at Alexandra Park (southeast corner of Dundas St. W and Bathurst St.) until mid-September.

Fields range from Scarborough to Mississauga to Downsview locations.
