Toronto police are investigating after separate shootings killed one person and left four in hospital.
Gunshots rang out at Peanut Plaza near Don Mills Road and Van Horne Avenue around 3 a.m.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were sent to hospital.
The homicide squad has now taken over the investigation.
About an hour earlier, police were called to Lawrence Avenue West and Jane Street, where two men were found suffering from bullet wounds.
One victim was hit in the neck, the other in the chest.
Both injuries are not considered life-threatening.
