The Special Investigations Unit is looking into an incident in east-end Toronto that sent two people to hospital.
Officers were called to a Laurel Avenue home after a man with a knife barricaded himself inside the house.
Police say a man was taken to hospital suffering from stab wounds.
The suspect was then shot a number of times during a confrontation with officers.
The condition of the men has not been released.
