A nationwide manhunt came to an end Friday afternoon, when police arrested a third person in connection with the beating death of a 73-year-old Brampton man.

The search for 29-year-old James Martineau lasted four days. He was arrested at Union Station at about 4:30 p.m. as he exited a Toronto-bound train from Montreal. He has been charged with second-degree murder and will appear in court on Saturday.

On Monday, the body of Ivan Newton Davison was found in York Region, on a rural King Township road near the Caledon-King town line and Mount Pleasant Road, about 30 kilometres from where he lived.

An autopsy held Tuesday concluded his death resulted from blunt-force trauma.

Mr. Martineau and his 48-year-old mother, Wendy Martineau, shared a home with Mr. Davison.

She appeared in court on Wednesday in Newmarket, Ont., charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder, which usually means helping to conceal the crime.

The same charge has now been laid against Rian Patrick McLean, 31, of no fixed address, who was arrested in Brampton on Thursday.

Both Mr. McLean and Ms. Martineau are being held without bail.
