Toronto police investigators have determined that the information they were given about an attempted child abduction north of Toronto is "unfounded."
Police released information about the alleged attempted abduction of a nine-year-old girl from the driveway of a home (in the Yonge Blvd. and Wilson Ave. area) Tuesday.
The girl told police a man approached her and grabbed her by the arm before she ran away to get help.
The report heightened concern in the neighbourhood as many parents became worried about their children's safety.
But Constable Tony Vella told CTV News that there was no merit to the allegations.
