Bomardier Inc. was founded in 1942 by a man who envisioned a product that would allow Canadians to travel safely over snow, says Pierre Beaudoin, the company's president and CEO.

Introduced at a Toronto breakfast event on May 19 by Eric Reguly, The Globe and Mail's European business correspondent, Mr. Beaudoin said his grandfather went on to invent the Ski-Doo and create a new industry.

That heritage of innovation has fuelled Bomardier's growth into a global leader of recreational products, rail equipment, commercial and business aircraft.
