Afghanistan is not an adventure down the garden path (A Deadly Day In Afghanistan - front page, Dec. 31); there are no heroes, and those journalists inside or outside the wire are wasting their time and lives in the attempt to convey the tragic uselessness of this war. My apologies to the Afghan civilians and to all the dead and maimed. It's time to stop the killing.
