I could not agree more with Ken Boessenkool that the size of the conservative 'c' didn't matter (When The Size Of The Conservative 'C' Didn't Matter - April 7).That is because "Canada's decade of prudent fiscal management" had little to do with "c' for conservative, since it was delivered by the Liberals.

As for the reduction in the GST from 6 to 5 per cent, Stephen Harper introduced it at a time when the economy he inherited was still strong and the Conservatives were forecasting continued growth; that it turned out to have a useful stimulative effect we can put down to "l" for luck.
