Your article Artist's Work Hidden From Public At Games (Feb. 23) distorts what has been a very positive experience and implies an adversarial situation that doesn't exist. VANOC treated me respectfully and remunerated me fairly. Wanting my work to be seen by a wider audience after the Games, whether in the Salt Building or elsewhere in Vancouver, has never meant that I've been unhappy with my dealings with VANOC officials.
Although I may not have fully understood in preliminary discussions that the public wouldn't have access to my work in the Salt Building during the Games, VANOC did clarify this once I began the project. The initial confusion on my part may have been due to the fact that I live 10 hours north of Vancouver. It's been a privilege for me to present my art to an international audience, including the athletes for whom it was originally intended.
