Peter Keleghan's letter speaks of the CBC as the "national cultural delivery system." Don't you find it Orwellian that Canadians must pay for a very expensive method of having our culture delivered to us? Nothing we do on our own, obviously, constitutes proprietary cultural activity.

The unspoken subtext in his message is that the CBC is Canadian culture. I have always believed that the CBC believes this sincerely.
