Before suggesting that the CBC should hire Conan O'Brien because we've been "struggling" to find a successful Canadian talk show host, Matthew Hays (Memo To The Ceeb: Hire Conan - Jan. 19) should have consulted John Doyle. He would have become enlightened.
In the Review section, Mr. Doyle pointed out that George Stroumboulopoulos is just as popular as Conan O' Brien, no, wait, twice as popular as Conan, according to ratings numbers (In The Suits Versus The Talent, The Suits Always Win - Jan. 19).
With American juggernaut publicity, sometimes, it seems, our "struggle" should be to realize our benchmark is right in front of our eyes.
