I always thought roundabouts just sort of popped up like mushrooms, without any rhyme or reason.

I've learned that ICBC works with local road honchos to add things like roundabouts and left-turn bays to tame dangerous intersections.

Last year, ICBC contributed around $8.1 million to road improvements around B.C. So our premiums are helping to reduce crashes and claims costs - and saving lives.

ICBC also supports Drinking Driving CounterAttack, helping change attitudes towards drinking and driving and saving hundreds of lives. (Are you detecting a theme here?)

Seat belts aren't the latest in high-tech but they're still the most important protection available to drivers and passengers. (Yeah, surprised me too, but it makes sense when you think about it.) That's why ICBC supports seatbelt enforcement and helps kids learn about buckling up.

Ever had your car stolen? (I haven't, knock on faux-wood dash.) Just six years ago, B.C. had one of the highest rates of car theft in North America. Today, the Bait Car program, operated by the Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team and supported by ICBC, has helped cut that rate in half.

I once was the parent of teenagers, I know they're not always easy to reach, but ICBC's RoadSense Speaker Program has a bunch of speakers who visit high schools and share their personal stories of lives changed forever by the wrong choice.
