The action
It was a slow grind to get buyers interested in this four-year-old house this summer, as it was listed alongside similar semi-detached models for sale at the same time in the community roughly 15 kilometres east of downtown Calgary. Within two weeks, the owner cut the asking price by $25,099, but it took another month to get an offer and subsequent negotiations to turn that into a solid $535,000 deal.
“It’s in a newer area of Chestermere – there’s a lot of growth with the amount of development and expansion – so that was a benefit for the property, but it also brought challenges with the amount of competition,” said agent Benjamin Archibald.
“It did take a little longer than I initially expected, but that’s just the market we’re in.”
