The action
This three-bedroom house sold in roughly a week, much faster than other properties near the Muttart Conservatory and the North Saskatchewan River.
“It’s quite a mixed neighbourhood with the median price closer to $500,000, so this is considered a luxury home,” said agent Clare Packer.
“It did sell a lot quicker than what is typical, but the luxury market in Edmonton, over $1-million, has been a lot more active than we’ve seen in previous years.”

There were only two groups to visit the home including the eventual buyers who were impressed by the home’s colourful design.
“Everyone’s trying to depersonalize [their house], make everything white, and put in vinyl plank flooring with a hue of grey,” said Ms. Packer, “which appeals to the masses.”
But with this house, mass appeal wasn’t the right strategy. “We played into the vibe of the house, which was really unique and bold,” she said. “We stood out a little better and that ultimately caught the eye of the buyers that purchased it.”
